Cead Isteach £1. Dungloe man for Maracycle A young married cyclist from Dungloe has been accepted as a participant in Europe's first Maracycle this July. He is John A. Doherty, Civil Servant at Quay Road, Dungloe. The Mar c.cycle which extends to 206 miles is being organised by "Co-operation North" a private, non– political organisation seeking to promote improved understanding between people in Northern Ireland and The Republic. On &aturday, July 21st, cyclists will depart simultaneously from Belfast's City Hall and Dublin's Mansion House. Having cycled the 103 miles to the opposite capital, the return trip takes place on Sunday, July 22nd. The event should nQ1 be regarded as a RACE. FUND RAISING Mr. Doherty who is associated with a number of voluntary organisations including the local Parish Council is availing of the opportunity to raise "sponsorship", the proceeds of which goes to Dungloe Church Building Fund. £500 TO BE WON This appeal for sponsorship is unique in that each sponsor of £1 is included in a Grand Draw (limited) for £50C.
